Every once in a while you want to have or build a weird pedal. This one combines a fuzz, a delay and some weird modulation to result in a fuzzy kind of weird noise thing or unstable tape simulator. Can be either highly psychedelic or vertigo-inducing. True bypass. LED indicates fuzz on (red) or off (green). Requires a 9V DC power supply.

I wish I could come up with designs like these, but alas, I can't. This one is largely based on the fuzz version of the Mid-Fi Electronics Clari(not), with an added footswitch to disengage most of the fuzziness. Initially, this was supposed to be called The Lunatic and to have a different icon, but while I was waiting for some missing components to arrive, both the name and especially the icon felt increasingly silly, which proves that sometimes it's a good idea to simply wait a bit. The Vertigo and its assocated icon represent the sound of this pedal much more accurately.

Even though I've been making numerous pedals by now, troubleshooting is still an issue. In this case, it was a matter of a loose solder joint that resulted in a fuzzy noise that was too weird even for this pedal. At least it didn't take me too long to find it. And as far as clear coating goes, I think I might need a few lessons to finally get this under control.
